Who Is the Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont Distric Council (MNVDC)?

Many new members and contractors ask what is the District Council and what does it do?

We organize the unorganized. We promote the protection of workers' rights. We are a politically active organization that strives to improve the lives of the working people.   The Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont, Laborers' District Council serves the tri-state area local offices.  We are made up of seven affiliates. Our organization represents union laborers in the states of Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont. We are an affiate of the Laborer's International Union of North America, which represents 800,000 union members throughout the world.

About The Laborers’ International Union of North America

The men and women of LIUNA do the hard, dangerous and sometimes dirty work of building our countries.

LIUNA—the Laborers’ International Union of North America—is the most progressive, aggressive and fastest-growing union of construction workers, and one of the most diverse and effective unions representing public service employees.

LIUNA members are on the forefront of the construction industry – a sector that is a powerhouse of 12 million workers producing 5 percent of our countries’ economic output.

A half-million strong, we are united through collective bargaining agreements which help us earn family-supporting pay, good benefits and the opportunity for advancement and better lives.
